Rumors today (Jan 29), courtesy of X tipster OnLeaks and Android Headlines, purport the new color options for the Pixel Buds 2a. The leak was accompanied by a set of renderings, which showcase the Buds 2a in a vibrant and smooth “Berry” colorway. The pink, almost strawberry-looking color option seemingly wraps around the buds entirely, including the eartips and the case’s internals.
Moreover, when closed, the Pixel Buds 2a’s case will have a neat strip across its body, so no one second-guesses your color choice.
The tipster’s discoveries add that Google might also unveil a second additional color: “Fog.” If you’ve ever wondered what fog looks like, these renders suggest it’s a mix of gray with, maybe, a splash of green. Color debates aside, this “Fog” colorway will adhere to the design choices of the 2a series for the buds and case. What’s more interesting is that the tipster claims these new colorways are eyeing a 2026 debut, potentially alongside the Pixel 10a.

You could say that these colors have been a long time coming. Last summer, before the Pixel Buds 2a debuted, there were rumors about four colors for the product. We know that we didn’t end up with four; however, among those alleged colorways were “Fog Light” and “Strawberry.” The latest reports now call these “Fog” and “Berry,” which keep the vibes similar to what was speculated before.
The other side of these rumors is the Pixel 10a, which Google might keep extremely safe. Leaked renders suggest the phone will keep the same flat camera bar and display bezels that have become commonplace in the Pixel A-series.

More colorways is always a good thing, especially when they kind of match with other Pixel phones that Google has made. It can feel upsetting when the next-generation a phone or product you’ve been waiting on is coming out, but there’s not a color you like. Some companies tend to default to same static, maybe even “plain,” options. There are times when you’ll get some vibrancy that lets consumers’ character and the character of the product shine.
