iPhone 18 Pro pricing rumors offer surprisingly good news

We’re still over half a year away from the iPhone 18 line being unveiled, but the latest analyst expectations for pricing are surprisingly good news.

Analyst Jeff Pu reports iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max likely won’t get price increases

If you keep an eye on tech industry trends, you’ve probably heard that key iPhone components might be getting a lot more expensive for Apple.

Reporting indicates that the A20 Pro chip, with its cutting edge 2nm process, will be a lot pricier due to growing demand for TSMC capacity from other companies.

Similarly, AI-related demand is also causing DRAM and storage costs to spike.

Many investors assume Apple will have to raise prices on the iPhone 18 line as a result. But increasingly, analysts who follow the company closely have another take.

Recently, Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple plans to keep pricing steady for its new iPhone 18 flagships. At a minimum, he expects the base storage options to stay the same cost as the iPhone 17 line.

Now today, analyst Jeff Pu has published a research note where he corroborates this view.

He said that following Apple’s recent earnings call, his firm performed fresh supply chain research that indicates Apple has several cost management efforts in place for this fall’s iPhones.

Apple’s goal, Pu says, is to keep starting selling prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max “unchanged or at a similar level” to their predecessors.

That means we’re likely looking at $1,099 and $1,199 starting prices for each model, respectively.

If Apple is able to keep prices the same, it could help provide an advantage if competitors decide they have to make their own pricing adjustments. It will also help alleviate potential blowback from there not being a base iPhone 18 option until early next year.

How much would a price increase to the iPhone 18 Pro influence your purchase decision? Let us know in the comments.
