The Google Pixel 10a was just announced a few days ago, but we’ve already seen a good number of preorder deals that could make the cheap Android phone even cheaper (or free) if you know what you’re doing. Verizon’s offer is particularly impressive, giving away the Pixel 10a for FREE when you add a line with an eligible unlimited plan on its site.
You’re not limited to the most expensive unlimited plans if you want to grab the deal, either. Verizon’s Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Ultimate plans will ALL land you the free Pixel 10a, plus there’s potential for a $200 gift card if you’re switching from one of Verizon’s competitors. It’s a Google Pixel 10a deal that just keeps on giving, so act fast if you’re interested.
The Google Pixel 10a may not be a dramatic improvement over its predecessor, but it’s still a great cheap Android phone with a refined display, outstanding battery life and charging speeds, and a flagship-level camera with Gemini AI software features. You also get seven years of OS and security upgrades guaranteed.
The biggest drawback of the Pixel 10a is really more of a comparison problem than an issue with the phone itself. Indeed, because the 10a stuck with the last-gen Tensor G4 chipset, it feels more like a souped-up version of the Google Pixel 9a than a completely new smartphone.
The bright side is that 2025’s Pixel 9a was a great phone in its own right. Take that critically-acclaimed foundation and slap on a more-durable glass display and some flagship-level battery life and you’re looking at an awesome overall package.
Of course, if you prefer the simplicity of unlocked phones, preordering the Pixel 10a through Best Buy or Amazon is the smart move. But if you’re already a Verizon user (or willing to switch), this deal is worth some serious consideration.
