Now Nudge on the Galaxy S26 surfaces the right info when needed

TL;DR

  • With the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is introducing Now Nudge suggestions.
  • Functioning much like Magic Cue on the Pixel 10, Now Nudge uses AI to find useful information based on context.
  • Now Nudge suggestions are supported by major messaging apps, including Samsung Messages and WhatsApp.

The Galaxy S26 family is now official, and as has been perfectly clear from all of Samsung’s teasers leading up to today’s launch, AI features are a huge part of what the phones have to offer. We’ve been hearing about upgrades to things like Now Bar and Now Brief, but Samsung’s also got some all-new AI tricks ready to debut, including the introduction of the very Pixel Magic Cue-like Now Nudge.

Now Nudge functions in much the same way as Magic Cue on the Pixel 10 series. The idea is that AI watches what you’re doing on your handset and uses that context to try and proactively pull up useful information. If you’re texting with someone about your recent trip and mention some photos you took, Now Nudge might find a few of those shots and suggest you send one. Or if you’re scheduling a meetup with someone, Now Nudge can check your calendar and see if you’re free.

As we saw with Magic Cue, though, for as nice of an idea as a system like this might sound, actually getting it working in a way that feels genuinely useful can be an uphill challenge, and it might be worth spending some more time actually using Now Nudge before we make any judgements about how successful Samsung was with this effort.

Now Nudge is capable of offering text message prompts with apps including Samsung Messages, Google Messages, Google Chat, WhatsApp, Line, Signal, and Instagram. Samsung is introducing Now Nudge with the Galaxy S26 series, and we haven’t yet heard of any plans to expand access to older devices.
