Early Geekbench results reveal A19 iPhone 17e performance

Following early tests of the M4 iPad Air, the M5 Max chip, and the MacBook Neo, the first purported tests of the iPhone 17e’s A19 chip are now up on Geekbench. Here’s how it did.

The iPhone 17e’s A19 chip features a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine

As 9to5Mac readers probably know, Geekbench results for unreleased products should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Over the past few days, we’ve seen purported results for many of the products Apple announced earlier this week, which will become available starting next week. Now, that includes the iPhone 17e.

With 11 results attributed to the device’s A19 chip, the iPhone 17e averages about 3,320 in single-core and 8,373 in multi-core CPU performance.

Across the results, single-core scores range from 3,001 to 3,607, while multi-core scores range from 6,657 to 9,241, making it harder to gauge how it stacks up against other iPhones.

That said, taking the average scores into account, a 3,320 single-core score puts the iPhone 17e’s A19 chip ahead of the iPhone 16e’s A18 chip (3,241) and a single point ahead of the iPhone 16’s A19 chip (3,319).

Meanwhile, the 8,373 average for the multi-core score puts it ahead of the iPhone 16e (7,977), the iPhone 16 Plus (8,266), and the iPhone 16 (8,280).

As for the Metal score, there are currently 4 Geekbench test results, ranging from 30,831 to 31,597, averaging 31,163. That puts the iPhone 17e well ahead of the iPhone 16e (23,895), the iPhone 16 (27,666), and the iPhone 16 Plus (27,722).

Whether these results will hold up once the iPhone 17e hits the shelves and more users run their own Geekbench tests remains to be seen.
