Developer Riley Testut, best known for the Delta emulator, is back with another nostalgia-powered app for iOS: Delta Camera, which turns your iPhone into the classic Game Boy Camera. The new app recreates the iconic 8-bit aesthetic of Nintendo’s original 1998 accessory, but adds “features you’d expect from a modern camera app”. Here’s how to get it.
A Testut-style retro spin to iPhone photography
As with many recent pro camera iPhone apps like Adobe’s Project Indigo and VSCO Capture, Delta Camera features advanced controls like manual exposure, brightness and contrast adjustments, and even support for the Camera Control button introduced with the iPhone 16 lineup.
You can also switch between front and rear cameras, take multi-shot panoramas, and export images directly, no GB printer required.
The Delta Camera interface closely replicates the old Game Boy vibe, with pixelated menus, a virtual d-pad, and a grayscale photo preview that feels like a direct throwback to the 0.001MP photos captured on the original.
Here’s the original announcement from the AltStore’s Bluesky account:
Delta Camera is currently available in beta for Testut’s Patreon supporters at $3/month or $30.24/year, and a full public release is planned later this year via the AltStore.
