Apple releases iOS 26.4 beta 1 for iPhone, here’s what’s new

Apple has released the first iOS 26.4 beta for iPhone. While we originally expected iOS 26.4 to include upgraded Siri, it sounds like we won’t see those changes just yet.

What we know is that Apple inked a deal with Google in January to use Gemini AI technology to power some of the upcoming Siri enhancements Apple has been developing for two years. While the promised features have been public for a while, the green light to use Gemini is relatively new.

iOS 26.4 beta 1 follows the official release of iOS 26.3, which was especially light on features and changes.

The update added an easier way to switch between Android and iPhone, tweaks to the Astronomy and Weather wallpaper gallery, and a new feature for iPhones and iPads with Apple C1 and C1X modems for limiting precise location using cellular with select service providers.

Stay tuned as we update our devices to Apple’s first developer beta version of iOS 26.4. We’ll report back with any changes we discover.
