As part of the Big Spring Sale, Amazon has launched a $150 discount on our favorite e-reader for writing

Amazon Kindle deals usually pop up around the retailer’s biggest sales of the year, and this year’s Spring sale is no exception. This week only, Amazon has cut $150 off the price of the Amazon Kindle Scribe, which is our favorite e-reader for writing and note-taking. The deal comes as part of the retailer’s Big Spring Sale, which is offering a wide range of tablet and e-reader discounts.

We love the Kindle Scribe for its inclusion of a stylus and its ease-of-use when annotating or taking notes in your books. It’s also a good pick for drawing, offering a highly paper-like feel. While it’s a little larger than most of Amazon’s Kindles and it’s only in black and white, it’s a good pick for those who want something with an authentic book-like feel.

✅Recommended if: you’re in the market for the best Kindle e-reader for writing, and you want to buy something that comes with a premium stylus with purchase of the device itself; battery life is a huge priority for your e-reader needs and you want something with a fast-charging USB-C port; you need between 16GB and 64GB of onboard storage.

❌Skip this deal if: you don’t care about writing or note-taking and you’d rather save money on a basic, entry-level Kindle option, or you need a device that supports wireless charging; you need an e-reader that’s rated for water and dust resistance; you prefer a smaller overall e-reader than this one’s 10.2-inch display.

The Kindle Scribe launched in 2024, and while the company has launched a slightly upgraded version of the model, the last-generation version still holds up pretty well.

This e-reader comes in configurations with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of storage, and purchase also comes with the first-party stylus. This particular price is for the 16GB edition, though it’s worth noting that Amazon isn’t offering discounts on the two upgraded versions.

The Scribe also offers up to 12 weeks of battery life, the Active Canvas feature for annotating in book margins, or other note-taking and document-marking purposes.

As for the display, it’s a 10.2-inch, glare-free screen with 300 ppi, and multiple brightness and color modes for differing lighting conditions.
