Comparing wireless specs across Mac, iPad, iPhone, and more Apple products

Apple products use a wide mix of wireless specifications. Bluetooth 6, 5.3, and 5.0 appear in different iPhones, iPads, Macs, and more. Apple also uses different W-Fi technologies with currently sold products featuring Wi-Fi 7, 6, 6E, and even Wi-Fi 4. Visualize what hardware uses which spec below.

Among Macs currently sold by Apple, only the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro use Wi-Fi 7. Apple’s other Macs in the current lineup use Wi-Fi 6E. Every Mac introduced in 2026 uses Bluetooth 6. MacBook Neo is the only Mac with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6. Apple’s other Wi-Fi 6E Macs use Bluetooth 5.3.

The current iPad mini, introduced in 2024, uses Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The lower-priced iPad uses Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.

Apple adopted Wi-Fi 7 with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro in 2024. The iPhone 15 Pro before that used Wi-Fi 6E in 2023. The new iPhone 17e is the only model currently sold by Apple with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. The older iPhone 16 uses Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. Apple’s flagship iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max all use Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, just like the flagship iPads and Macs.
