Apple has new iPhone features in the works for iOS 26.2, the next major software update that’s currently in beta testing. Here’s the expected release date for iOS 26.2.
iOS 26.2 is coming in December, likely mid-month
iOS 26.1 recently arrived with upgrades to AirPods Live Translation, Apple Music, new customization tools, and more.
But iOS 26.2 is already in beta testing with a release date not far off.
Apple has already confirmed that iOS 26.2 will launch in December to all users.
Looking at the company’s previous x.2 releases, however, we can get an even more precise idea of when the update will ship.
- iOS 18.2: Wednesday, December 11
- iOS 17.2: Monday, December 11
- iOS 16.2: Tuesday, December 13
- iOS 15.2: Monday, December 13
As you can see, Apple consistently ships iOS x.2 in mid-December before going on break closer to the holidays.
This year, iOS 26.2 could arrive around Wednesday, December 10. It’s also possible we won’t see it until the following week, on or around Monday, December 15.
The beta cycle for iOS 26.2 kicked off a bit later than usual, arriving on November 4 as opposed to last year’s October 23 debut. Thus, launching by December 10 might be too ambitious.
Whichever week it ends up arriving, iOS 26.2 will ship to all users no later than mid-December.
