Leaker shares alleged iPhone 17 TechWoven case colors

Leaker Majin Bu has been saying that Apple will ditch its failed FineWoven cases for TechWoven, “a new synthetic fabric with a more technical, less ‘luxury’ vibe.” Now, Bu has shared a few images that supposedly show the color lineup. Find them below.

Five colors, two dings

In an image shared on X, Bu showcased a lineup of five colors: orange, purple, green, blue, and gray. These are some of the same colors expected for the iPhone 17 lineup next month.

Interestingly, the blue case shows a small, but apparent sign of wear and tear on the lower right side, which is precisely the kind of problem that contributed to the failure of the FineWoven accessories.

To be fair, this doesn’t mean TechWoven will necessarily suffer from the same problems as FineWoven, but the fact of the matter is that little ding is pretty visible, regardless of how easily it got there.

Clickier buttons, two lanyard holes

Bu features a few more images on their website, including a close-up shot that makes the texture pretty visible. There, too, the black case displays a tiny ding near its bottom corner.

None of the images show the bottom of the cases, which Bu says will feature two lanyard openings, one on each side. They do show in detail the side buttons, which Bu describes as “[m]etallic, contrasting, with improved tactile feedback.”

Finally, Bu also says the TechWoven cases will be MagSafe-compatible, and feature an opening on one side for access to the Camera Control button.

Regarding the durability issue, Bu says that the new texture “resists glossing and maintains a consistent appearance even after weeks of use.” Whether that will stand the test of time and real-world usage, we’ll find out soon enough.

Assuming the details are correct, do you believe these cases will be more durable than the FineWoven ones? Let us know in the comments.
