New iPhone design with quad-curved display in the works, says leaker

Apple’s rumored iPhone roadmap reveals plenty of experimentation and unique designs coming, and one of them, per Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, will involve a quad-curved display.

Apple testing quad-curved display for next year’s expected ‘iPhone 20’

Next year brings the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, and reports have indicated for a while that Apple has a special new model launching.

This ‘iPhone 20’ has been rumored to feature a fully cutout-free display. Though more recent reporting says Apple is struggling to meet its goals for under-display camera and Face ID components.

However, a new post from leaker Digital Chat Station indicates Apple is still moving this design direction. Though the post is unclear on where Apple stands in the process, it does highlight another key design feature being tested: a quad-curved display.

Essentially, a quad-curved display would wrap around the corners of the device to provide essentially a bezel-free, all-screen design. This might explain why the iPhone 20 is rumored to drop physical buttons for haptic ones.

We heard last May that this design was being considered, but it seems to have progressed further now.

It’s possible Apple can still accomplish a cutout-free display too, which would enhance the effect of a truly all-screen design.

But even if it’s unable to move all the necessary components under the screen, this quad-curved display would by itself represent a noticeably unique design for the iPhone 20.

Hopefully Apple can achieve its goals for the 20th anniversary model. But even if not, it should be a very interesting next couple years for iPhone designs.
