Nomad debuts Stellar Orange ChargeKey to color match iPhone

Nomad is updating one of my favorite and most clutch tech accessories they make. They are expanding their ChargeKey lineup with a new Stellar Orange color to perfectly match the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. ChargeKey has been one of Nomad’s longest-running products and is still one of the simplest solutions for carrying a reliable cable on your keychain that can do it all, from ultra-high speed charging to professional-level data transfer speeds. Here is what you should know.

As I stated above, at its core, the functionality has not changed. They updated the ChargeKey’s functionality about a year ago to fully support all modern USB-C standards. It went from just a quick backup cable to one capable of handling high-power charging and fast data transfer when needed. For something so small, that is meant to just live on your keychain, the spec list and build quality is pretty impressive. Here is what you get:

  • Fast charging up to 240W
  • Data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps (USB 3.1)
  • Braided nylon cable
  • Electroplated zinc cable housings
  • Magnetic cable tips that snap together for storage

The ChargeKey can handle most charging needs with its 240W output, and if you need to transfer large files from an SSD to a computer or vice versa, you can do so with no issues whatsoever.

My experience

I have had every version of the ChargeKey, even the old Lightning version. The biggest thing for me has always been just how reliable it is. It has lived on my keychain for years. Back then, it maxed out at 60W for the USB-C version, just 20W for the Lightning version. I am happy with how much more useful it has become. I can now use it confidently when editing footage on the go with my SSD, thanks to the much faster USB 3.1 transfer speeds. The same goes for charging. If i need to charge my iPad Pro or a MacBook prot at full speed I can now easily do that. It also pairs amazingly with Nomad’s slim wall chargers. I am also a big fan of the new color and how closely it matches the iPhone 17 Pro. It has a nice two-tone orange color. You have the lighter orange nylon fabric on the cable itself, and then you have the chrome orange accents on the cable tips and the keychain loop. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the material choices.

Pricing, availability & final thoughts

The new Stellar Orange ChargeKey is available today for $29 from Nomad’s website. They are still selling their original black/grey color, but if you have a Cosmic Orange iPhone, then this is the way to go. It will charge your iPhone at the full 40W speed and transfer at up to 10Gbps in any scenario. So if you are in the market for an emergency cable that looks good, or you have a loved one who needs a gift for their new Cosmic Orange iPhone, then this is something you should consider!
