Rumor: iPhone 18 Pro to come in three all-new colors

Unlike any ‘Pro’ iPhone before it, the iPhone 17 Pro is available in a bright cosmic orange color. This trend of bold colors might continue with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup next year.

A new report from Weibo user Digital Chat Station, which has previously shared accurate iPhone rumors, the iPhone 18 Pro could be available in brown, purple, and burgundy.

It’s hard to glean too much from this rumor. This early in the iPhone 18 rumor cycle, it’s possible Apple’s plans change. The company is likely still prototyping different color options. Nonetheless, this rumor does mark the first hint of what colors to expect from the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

The description in the Weibo post varies depending on which translation service you use. None of the translations really give us much context, either:

  • Weibo: Coffee, Purple, and Wine Red
  • Google Translate: Coffee Brown, Purple, and Burgundy
  • Apple Translate: Coffee, Purple, and Burgundy

The rumor also says “seems that there will still be no black next year.”

The iPhone 17 Pro is available in cosmic orange, deep blue, and silver. The device is not available in a black or space gray color for the first time in years, a decision that upset some iPhone users.

At least in the case of the iPhone 17 Pro, the deep blue color is somewhat close to black. None of the rumored iPhone 18 Pro sound like they would satisfy users who want a dark iPhone color.

Again, I’d treat this rumor with some skepticism for the time being. I expect more iPhone 18 Pro color rumors to emerge in the coming months, ahead of the actual launch next September. For now, let’s just keep admiring the gorgeous cosmic orange iPhone 17 Pro.

What do you think of the rumored iPhone 18 Pro colors? Do you want Apple to add a black or space gray option back next year? Let us know down in the comments.
