The Emerson Smartset Wireless Charging Alarm Clock Radio perfectly blends retro gadgets with modern technology. It works as a traditional alarm clock, a radio, and a wireless charger, as its name suggests.
Our phones already do all these things, so this is definitely more of a cool gizmo than a necessity. That said, some of us still appreciate the simpler things in life. Having a dedicated alarm clock makes it all more seamless and less distracting, allowing you to start your morning without crazy notifications and early-morning emails. I don’t know many people who still listen to the radio, but if you do, this thing also has that.
It actually has some pretty cool extra features, too. You can set two alarms simultaneously, for example. It also has a temperature sensor, so you can get a glimpse at the room temperature at a glance. It also features what Emerson calls SmartSet Automatic Time Setting System. This sets the right time, date, and year as soon as you plug it in. It can apparently even recognize Daylight Saving Time, and adjust automatically. All you have to do is set your time zone.
Now, let’s talk about the wireless charger. It’s right on top, and it can charge at 5W. Not exactly the fastest, but it should charge your phone overnight without issues. We weren’t expecting anything groundbreaking, right? Especially after paying only $11.99!
