It’s safe to say that the Nothing Phone 4a Pro stands out in the mid-range smartphone market, and not just thanks to its quirky stylings and capable camera setup. The phone is well-spec’d, packs plenty of battery power, and won’t cost an arm and a leg. Picking it is a deliberate choice, though, and arguably, there are better devices out there.

According to our readers, the best alternative to the Nothing Phone 4a Pro is the Google Pixel 10a, taking home over a quarter (~27%) of the vote. Is anyone really surprised? The mid-range Google phone might not be as exciting as the nothing, but it does come with a far longer software support promise, is far smaller and more pocketable, and offers the software goodness that Pixels are famed for.
At a glance, it appears that two phones share the spoils for the runner-up spot, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE edges out the OnePlus 13R by just 49 votes, or ~0.2%. Considering this poll amassed over 19,800 votes, that’s a grain of sand in a very large ocean.
Samsung and OnePlus, separated by a hair
The Galaxy S25 FE is a solid smartphone, though. Again, compared to the Nothing Phone’s design, it can’t really compete aesthetically. It can, however, offer buyers Samsung’s brilliant One UI skin, solid build quality, and a faster chipset. It’s much more expensive though, even when its frequent sale spells arrive.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 13R is the power user’s choice on this list. It packs the fastest chipset of the lot, a roomy 6,000mAh battery, and faster wired charging to top it all up again.
Where the Stylus lacks in specs, it makes up for in pep, support for a writing stylus and a microSD card slot, and a much lower price tag than any of the phones mentioned here.

Motorola Razr (2025)
On the other end of the spectrum, the Razr is the priciest phone on this list and the only foldable phone. Despite having a much smaller battery, it often comes close to breaking the Nothing Phone 4a Pro’s price point. In that scenario, it’s well worth considering.
What about the other Nothing Phone 4a Pro alternatives?
Notably, 4.2% of respondents had alternative alternatives in mind, which included the previous generation Phone 3a and 3a Pro, the POCO F8 Pro, the HONOR 400 Pro, the Xiaomi 15T Pro, the OnePlus Nord 5, the realme GT7, the REDMAGIC 11 Air, and the Motorola Moto G (2026).
A recurring theme in the comments highlighted Nothing’s status as an “underdog,” and while that is true, it’s irresponsible to commit to it without considering the myriad alternatives out there. That’s true for any smartphone and anything else you might consider buying.
That said, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro certainly raises the bar for design in this category, and the conservative giants of Google and Samsung should be a little worried, given the apparent appreciation for the Nothing ethos.
