XChat, X’s standalone messaging app, launching on iPhone and iPad next week

XChat, the standalone messaging app from X, now has a release date.

XChat will arrive on iPhone and iPad in one week. An App Store listing for the messaging app shows a preview of the design, including a detailed icon, and an April 17th release date.

XChat will allow users to “chat with anyone on X in a private, focused space built for conversation,” according to the app’s description.

XChat won’t include ads or tracking, and messaging is end-to-end encrypted.

A preview of the app shows features like the ability to block screenshots, send disappearing messages, hold group chats, and make video calls.

The app has been in testing since last year.

XChat can be pre-ordered from the App Store ahead of release next Friday.
