A new rumor today adds more details to Apple’s alleged plans for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max color lineup. Here are the four colors reportedly in development for this year’s phones…
Four iPhone 18 Pro colors revealed
Today’s rumor comes via Macworld and “a source familiar with Apple’s supply chain.” According to the rumor, Apple is currently developing the iPhone 18 Pro models in four colors:
- Light Blue (Pantone 2121)
- Described as similar to the current mist blue color of the base iPhone 17.
- Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076)
- Described as “deep wine-like red,” not a bright “fruit punch” style red.
- Silver (Pantone 427C)
- Described as similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s silver and white design.
- Dark Gray (Pantone 426C)
This, of course, isn’t the first we’ve heard about Apple’s development of a red-like iPhone 18 Pro. Bloomberg reported in February that Apple was considering a new deep red color option for the iPhone 18 Pro. Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station reported in October that Apple was working on a “burgundy” color for the iPhone 18 Pro.
Today’s report makes it clear that the “dark cherry” iPhone 18 Pro won’t be bright and flashy like the current cosmic orange iPhone 18 Pro. Instead, it will be more muted and subdued. Based on the Pantone code cited in the report, it sounds much closer to purple than red.
The report hides:
Once again, our source notes that the colors are all in development, but since the iPhone 18 Pro hasn’t gone into mass production yet, Apple still has time to change them. Also, bear in mind that Apple doesn’t always offer four color options for the Pro models, so one of these hues could be dropped.
Additionally, today’s rumor says Apple will discontinue the cosmic orange color option for the iPhone 18 Pro. There had been speculation that Apple might keep the color this year, given its immense popularity.
Finally, today’s rumor includes a few additional details about the design of the iPhone 18 Pro. The report says the overall design will “look very similar” to the iPhone 17 Pro, but with two changes:
- A smaller Dynamic Island cutout.
- A smaller “gap between the glass cutout on the back and the camera bump.”
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro in September alongside its first-ever foldable iPhone. What do you think of these rumored color options? Are they better than the iPhone 17 Pro? Let us know down in the comments.
